Happy New Year! 2025 has already developed amazing new ideas in the industry of Artificial Intelligence, and it doesn't look it's going to stop anytime soon. However, not only did AI gain new pieces of technology, but the White House gained a new president: Donald Trump. As this new era begins, what will happen to the Tech Industry? Will we gain more jobs here in the United States? Is Tech going to be much more expensive? Lets find out!

Tech CEOs

When it comes to the major leaders in the technology market, the majority of them have actually supported Donald Trump when it comes to taking office over former president Joe Biden. What does Donald Trump offer these CEOs that Joe Biden couldn't. That is fair and simple question with a simple answer: Tariff Exemptions. Tech CEOs aren't supporting Trump based on their values, but because of the fear of what he is going to do. President Trump has clearly stated many times that he has planned on implementing Tariffs on Chinese driven exports for two reasons: reducing reliance on China & building up a job market in America. This creates a problem for tech companies though. Most of their products are developed in the United States, but are manufactured in China, and the low cost of labor there allows these companies to have a higher profit margin, which in turn allows them to be a much more profitable company. However, if Trump's tariffs are implement on their technology, it would reduce profit margins for these Tech Companies, putting them in a higher chance of danger then many expect.

Also, if Americans take these manufacturing jobs, it would cost a significantly larger amount of money to manufacture, which also may inflate the prices of their products significantly. American minimum wage is much higher than China's, and companies need to provide insurance, a 401K, and many more that isn't needed by the Chinese. A prime example of a Tech CEO's reliance on China is Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. Apple sells millions of products a year at such a high price, but the company is only able to positively grow from it because of their cheap manufacturing in China. By getting Tax Exemption, Tech Companies would still be able to continue their regular practice of running their business for a longer period of time.

AI during Trump

Trump has significantly criticized Joe Biden on the implementation of AI Safety Regulations and wants the American People to be able to develop whatever they want without the government interfering with what they do. This seems positive in some ways: people don't need to worry about breaking any laws when trying to create a new invention. However, every positive has a negative, and this negative seems huge: AI Deep Fakes & Scams.

Artificial Intelligence has a mind of its own, and many scammers have already deployed it to take as much data from the user as possible and scam them. Older folks and children may have a hard time sensing that their data is getting taken, which then keeps them away from the safety of regular AI, and gets them to lose thousands of dollars. These scam centers -- which primarily operate from India and Nigeria -- have been a new threat in the wake of technology. It needs to be stopped.

Elon Musk is also helping Trump advise our Artificial Intelligence issue. Although Musk was employed by the government to run the Department of Government Efficiency with Vivek Ramaswamy, he is a leader in the AI industry, helping start companies such as OpenAI, and has a significant amount of knowledge in the field. Elon's love for the Trump administration comes from more than just values, but his ego itself as Biden didn't respect Tesla nearly as much as other US automakers. However, by embedding himself in the Trump administration, there seems to be many positives that are going to occur in the future of AI.
